Geostructural Project Engineer

Schnabel Engineering, Inc. is seeking Geostructural Project Engineers to join our office in West Chester, Pennsylvania and New York, New York.

Schnabel provides a broad range of consulting services including: geotechnical, geostructural, dams, geosciences, construction observation and laboratory testing of concrete, soil, and rock. We provide our professional services to private and public-sector clients throughout the US and abroad.   • Responsibilities of the successful candidate include preparation of design calculations and drawings (sketches) for geostructural projects and providing design support during construction of geostructural projects. Candidates with experience developing detailed design drawings and specifications and/or who have familiarity with risk management and preparation of risk registers will receive added consideration. Some field work and travel may be required.
  • The successful candidate is required to have a Bachelor’s degree focused in civil/geotechnical or structural engineering from an ABET-accredited institution. Candidates with a Master’s Degree are preferred. Relevant work experience of at least five (5) years in geotechnical or structural engineering and a current Professional Engineering license are required.
  • Candidates must be physically able to manage active project sites with minimal supervision from the office. Computer literacy is a must, and candidates are expected to have some basic understanding and working knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation drafting software. Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communications skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. This position requires effective time management, analytical skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to efficiently balance multiple concurrent tasks, responsibilities, and commitments.

Starting salary will be based upon experience and skill level.
